Almost a decade ago, I started a gaming clan to research how people connect in virtual spaces.
We had a lot of fun, but ended up finding our true passion in creating games, in those games.
The stuff we made in Ylands was played hundreds of thousands of times, but sadly, the game died...
...& all our creations died with it.
We entered and won in 6, $30,000 competitions:
1st Tencent Competition - 1st in games, 1st in builds2nd Tencent Competition - 1st place in games3rd Tencent Competition - 1st in games, 2nd in games. 3rd in games. 1st in builds.etc.
We made 30 games & experiences in Ylands, played est. 1/2 million times. 🎉
Fun times...
...but after we lost it all, we decided to do our own thing.
So we started fresh in Unity/C#.
After 14 months we grew to 17, daily-active devs.
We kept growing and now often host world-class mentoring sessions:
Current Focus:The whole team is currently working on a reasonably-scoped project.
We would like to finish in 1.5 years.
Unique selling point:
Many wholesome games are incredibly short and...
...very few sandbox games are wholesome and peaceful.
Our game seeks to bridge the gap between these two genres.
